Module 02

Reverse Image Search & Verification

Reverse image search is one of the most powerful verification tools available. This module covers advanced techniques for finding the true origins of images.

Beyond Basic Search

While Google Images and TinEye provide basic reverse search, professional verification requires advanced techniques. Cropping and searching specific regions, adjusting image parameters before searching, using multiple search engines, and checking image metadata can all improve results.

Identifying Manipulated Images

When reverse search reveals an original version of a manipulated image, forensic comparison can identify specific alterations - cropping, color adjustment, element removal or addition, and composite creation.

Geolocation Verification

Images can be verified by matching visual elements to known locations. Shadow angles can confirm time of day, architectural details can confirm location, and vegetation patterns can confirm season and region.
